19th century Chinese vase lamp in the Kangxi manner, 19th century
H-31cm
19th century Chinese blue and white vase in the Kangxi (1662-1722) manner, newly lamped and re-wired. Of baluster form, decorated with traditional patterns and motifs. There are extensive stapled repairs to the vase which, to our eye, considerably enhance its appeal. Chinese porcelain, having started being imported into Britain in the 16th century, was highly prized and so was repaired when broken which often adds to its beauty
